The Massey Challenge was established for runners, but what’s cooler than running? CYCLING! The Cycling for a Future without Cancer team is hijacking the platform to put on a bicycle ride: Ride for a Cure 2024.
What:
A bike ride ending at the Pony Pasture (distances,12.5, 25K or 50K)
A post-ride breakfast and beer at Dr. Renato Martins’ house
A way to make a difference by helping to cure cancer right here in RVA by cycling

Why:
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and to raise funds for the next 50 years of curing cancer right here in RVA! Massey is leading the nation in a community-centric approach to a future without cancer, earning a reputation of providing cutting edge cancer care and groundbreaking research – one revolutionary idea, one promising therapy and one life saved at a time.
Your Motivation:
Have you been touched by cancer? Do this ride in memory of a loved one or in honor or support of someone you know who is battling cancer.

Rachel Wilson, MSHA, business manager II, infusion center, VCU Health, Adult Outpatient Pavilion, and Cycling Enthusiast
When: Saturday, May the 4th, at 9:00 AM

12.5K Route: ideal for folks who want to ride but want a more relaxed and shorter ride experience
After Party:
Beer, coffee, snacks and fun times, at a private home near the finish line. Exact address provided to registered riders at a later date.
Cost:
Suggested donation is $50.
Fundraising:
While fundraising is not required, it is encouraged! Try raising at least $100, for the last 50 years and the 50 years to come. All who fundraise or donate $100 will receive a cool Massey technical t-shirt. Fundraise $1000 and receive a quarter zip fleece.

Feel free to go cheer on your running friends at the 10K on April 20th, but YOU HAVE SIGNED UP FOR A BIKE RIDE ON MAY 4TH. Because CYCLING IS COOLER THAN RUNNING!
