Thank you for taking the time to read this, that alone means so much. Daniel Mayo was such a beautiful soul, with incredible baking and cooking skills (nobody's raspberry sorbet comes close to Daniel's) and a wicked sense of humor. I knew him through my dear friend Deb, his older sister, and was happy anytime our paths would cross.
In September of 2018, Daniel was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia when he was 19 years old. He was treated at the Massey Cancer Center at VCU, but passed away only 9 days after his diagnosis. On February 26, Daniel would have turned 22 years old.
I'm joining team Daniel to help Deb and her family fundraise as they prep for the Ukrop's 10k. While I won't be in Richmond for the event, I want to help support the Mayos, and I hope you'll join me in that through honoring Daniel.
The VCU Massey Center is doing incredible work towards saving lives and finding cures. I'm forever indebted to their staff of nurses, doctors, receptionists, janitorial staff, and everyone else!
